Company building Fokker 7 Schiphol-Oost
For the Fokker Logistics Center at Schiphol East, Brink Staalbouw supplied the steel structure for a highly sustainable distribution center. The building is inspired by Cradle2Cradle principles and designed according to the concept of Design for Disassembly. This means that large parts of the structure can be easily adapted, reused, or dismantled in the future.
We delivered a flexible steel structure with demountable connections, smart material choices, and a clear structural layout. The construction supports the project’s ambitious sustainability goals and forms the basis for a circular and future-proof building. The logistics center provides space for storage and high-quality logistics operations directly adjacent to the airport.
The innovative approach of this project was recognized in 2016 with the National Sustainability Award for Steel. The jury praised the project for its exemplary role in circular construction, material-conscious design, and the way steel structures can contribute to a sustainable life cycle.
With this project, we contributed to a logistics facility that is both highly functional and forward-thinking, demonstrating how circular building principles can be applied in practice.
